Background
Choghaddak is an Iranian military installation in Bushehr province, on Iran's Persian Gulf coast in the south of the country. On 9 July 2026, Bushehr's deputy governor Ehsan Jahanian told the state news agency IRNA that a US projectile had struck the base at noon, in the same claimed strike wave as the Bushehr nuclear plant's perimeter and an Asaluyeh pier, with no reactor damage or casualties. CENTCOM said its strikes had already ended hours earlier and did not comment on the specific claim, and the IAEA had said nothing on it as of 10 July, leaving the claim's attribution unresolved.
