What We Collect
Lowdown has no user accounts in its current form. We do not collect names, email addresses, or payment details. We do process:
- Analytics data — via Umami (self-hosted, cookie-free, no personal data);
- Server logs — IP addresses and request metadata, retained for 30 days then deleted;
- Correspondence — if you contact us voluntarily, we retain your message and contact details for the duration of our response and up to 12 months thereafter.
Cookies
We do not use cookies. Umami operates without cookies or any persistent tracking. See our cookies policy for full details.
Legal Basis for Processing
We process server logs on the basis of legitimate interest in operating and securing the service (Article 6(1)(f) UK GDPR). Correspondence is processed on the basis of your consent in contacting us (Article 6(1)(a) UK GDPR).
Data Storage and Sovereignty
All data is stored within the European Union. We do not transfer personal data to the United States or any country outside the UK or EU.
Analytics
We self-host our analytics on EU infrastructure. All analytics data stays within our own systems — it is not shared with any third party. No cookies, no personal data collected.
Third-Party Services
We use EU-based infrastructure and content delivery providers. No personal data is shared with any third party.
Data Retention
- Server logs: 30 days then deleted
- Correspondence: 12 months after resolution
- Analytics: aggregated and non-identifiable; no retention limit applies

Children
Lowdown is not directed at children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
