Al-Kharj

Al-Kharj is a city south of Riyadh housing Prince Sultan Air Base. It has been hit repeatedly since Iran's war with Saudi Arabia and its Coalition partners began in early March 2026. On 2 March, two drones struck the US Embassy in Riyadh while Saudi air defences intercepted eight more near Al-Kharj in the same wave. Five days later an Iranian drone hit a residential building in the city, killing two migrant workers, one Indian and one Bangladeshi, and wounding twelve more Bangladeshis. The IRGC said the strike had targeted nearby radar systems; the two deaths were Saudi Arabia's first confirmed civilian fatalities since the war began.
