US Midterms 2026: Ohio Senate race draws $44.1m in a weekBackground
WinSenate is a Super PAC affiliated with Senate Majority PAC, the main Democratic outside group for Senate races. It spends against Republican Senate candidates, and in 2026 Ohio has become one of its main fronts.
It registered with the Federal Election Commission on 10 January 2024 as committee C00865444. FactCheck.ORG reports that it received and spent about $313.1m in the 2024 cycle, almost all of it from Senate Majority PAC. For the 2026 cycle it reported $22.25m raised by 31 August, $21.12m of that in transfers from affiliated committees.
That funding route shapes what its reports reveal. Anyone looking for the people behind WinSenate's adverts has to follow the transfers back to Senate Majority PAC.
WinSenate leads Democratic spending in Ohio
WinSenate's $10.33m against Jon Husted in The Week to 30 September 2026 made it the biggest spender on the Democratic side of Ohio's Senate race. It still trailed Defend American Jobs, a crypto-linked committee that filed $11.46m in the same week, split between backing Husted and attacking Democrat Sherrod Brown.
The Ohio money is a large share of WinSenate's cycle. By 31 August it had reported $12.46m of independent expenditures for 2026, so one week in one state came close to matching everything it had spent before. Its funds arrive almost entirely by transfer from Senate Majority PAC, which leaves the original donors on the parent committee's reports rather than its own.
