US Midterms 2026: Ohio Senate race draws $44.1m in a weekBackground
Defend American Jobs is a Super PAC that the Washington Times places in the network of Fairshake, the crypto industry's main political committee. In 2026 its largest target is Ohio, where it backs Republican Jon Husted against Democrat Sherrod Brown.
It registered with the Federal Election Commission on 29 March 2023 as an independent-expenditure-only committee, ID C00836221. Its reports for 1 January 2025 to 31 August 2026 show $38.29m raised, $37m of it transferred from affiliated committees, and $32.52m of independent expenditures, leaving $5.66m in cash.
With almost every dollar arriving as a transfer, its own filings show little money from individual donors. The paying interests sit one step back, in the affiliated committees that fund it.
Defend American Jobs targets Brown again
Defend American Jobs reported $11.46m of independent expenditures in Ohio between 24 and 30 September 2026, leading every outside group in a race that drew $44.1m that week. Nearly all of it sat in two lines: $5,713,491.28 supporting Senator Jon Husted and $5,713,491.27 opposing Democrat Sherrod Brown.
For the committee this is a second campaign against Brown. By the Washington Times's account it had spent $40m at the same point in 2024 backing Bernie Moreno, WHO took Brown's seat. The paper places it in the network of Fairshake, the crypto industry's main Super PAC, and reports that Fairshake said it would spend $30m against Brown. The new adverts do not mention Cryptocurrency.
