Shephard Media is a UK specialist defence-trade publisher covering land warfare, unmanned systems and procurement, and a primary source for contract and capability news in the autonomous-systems sector. On 11 August 2026 it reported that the EU's uncrewed ground vehicle programme, iMUGS2, has entered a new stage: Milrem Robotics coordinates the effort across 15 countries, running through to a Norway exercise in 2028, with a third stage already under discussion beyond that.

Its reporting also tracked the €115 million Finnish-Swedish deal signed at Eurosatory in June 2026 for a heavy autonomous tracked vehicle, of which €79 million came from EU defence funds, and the German transmission maker that won the programme's first hardware supply contract the same week.

Shephard's coverage extends to UK drone procurement: it reported that Malloy Aeronautics, presented by the Ministry of Defence as an independent British innovator in a Berlin drone deal, is a BAE Systems subsidiary, and that Tekever, holding £270 million in prior UK contracts, was opening a 254,000 sq ft factory in Swindon.
