Background

The Pasteur Network is an alliance of 32 member institutes across 25 countries on five continents, combining local presence with global scientific connections to address infectious disease, biosecurity and public health challenges. On 20 April 2026 it signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI) to expand collaboration on epidemiology and data Science, laboratory research and vaccine testing, clinical trials capacity in disease-endemic regions, biosecurity, and manufacturing, including mRNA vaccine capability. The partnership builds on existing links with network members such as Senegal's Institut Pasteur de Dakar and Brazil's Bio-Manguinhos/Fiocruz, both part of CEPI's Vaccine Manufacturing Facility Network. Separately, on 29 May 2026 the Institut Pasteur in Paris was a founding partner, alongside Oxford, Universite Paris Cite and others, of the UK-France Strategic Biomedical and AI Health Alliance targeting women's health, infectious disease and pandemic preparedness.
