Background
On 9 July 2026, Iran's IRGC extended its claimed reprisal list to include Camp Arifjan, the primary staging base for US forces in Kuwait, after a second heavy US strike wave in 48 hours darkened three southern Iranian ports.
Camp Arifjan sits roughly 30 miles south of Kuwait City and has served as the US Army's principal logistics, staging and prepositioning hub in the Gulf since the early 2000s, housing US Army Central's forward headquarters and warehousing equipment for rapid regional deployment.
Its naming alongside Bahrain's Fifth Fleet headquarters at Juffair shows Iran's target list tracking wherever US forces stage, regardless of Ceasefire status, a pattern consistent since the IRGC's first two-country salvo against Kuwaiti and Bahraini bases in June.
