One Big Beautiful Bill Act

The Act's name reached a federal courtroom in October 2026. A Department of Homeland Security declaration, reported by CBS News, traced five government television ads to a $20m Office of Management and Budget grant to Customs and Border Protection on 19 September for "OBBB Commemorative Events". Judge Jennifer Rochon barred the ads on 11 October.

President Trump signed the Act on 4 July 2025 as Public Law 119-21. The Senate passed it 51-50 on 1 July, with Vice President JD Vance breaking the tie, and The House agreed 218-214 on 3 July. It makes the 2017 individual tax rates permanent, adds deductions for tips and overtime pay, raises the debt ceiling by $5 trillion and expands immigration enforcement funding. States must have Medicaid work requirements of 80 hours a month in place by 1 January 2027, and the Act extends Snap work requirements to adults up to age 64.

For NASA, the Act mandates Space Launch System funding of $1.025 billion a year from FY2026 to FY2029 for Artemis IV and V. NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman cited it on 7 April 2026 as the reason Artemis production could accelerate, days after The White House proposed a 47% cut to NASA science.
