A Nota Informativa is the Cuban government's standard format for an official public statement issued by a ministry, state agency or state-owned enterprise. The format is short, declarative and timed for state-media publication, typically covering operational announcements, policy clarifications, or sensitive event communications such as accidents or sanctions developments.
On Thursday 14 May 2026, Union Electrica Nacional (UNE) issued a Nota Informativa announcing the 06:09 partial disconnection of the Sistema Electrico Nacional from Ciego de Avila through Guantanamo. UNE's 16 July 2026 bulletin followed the same format after the grid's third and fourth total collapses of the month, reporting an actual peak deficit of 2,126 MW on 15 July and a forecast deficit of 2,240 MW for 16 July.
Notas Informativas are Cuba's principal primary source for grid, energy and emergency-response reporting.
