European Commission officials had said funds could flow within days once the veto lifted, but the Council vote has to be re-staged after Hungary formally changes its position, and analysts now place first disbursement in June at the earliest. Anita Orbán is reported as the frontrunner for the Hungarian Foreign Ministry under the Magyar cabinet, a signal that the ministerial pick is the variable that will show whether the Tisza majority delivers continuity with parts of the Orbán-era administrative apparatus or a clean EU-facing break. The veto is lifted; the funding calendar is not.
