Opened in September 2022 with a capacity of 88,966, Lusail Stadium is Qatar's largest venue and hosted ten matches at the 2022 tournament, including the final, in which Argentina beat France on penalties. Designed by Foster and Partners, the stadium's exterior is a golden, bowl-shaped vessel referencing the decorative patterns found on traditional Arab and Islamic vessels, with a perforated facade that shades the concourses and one of the largest tensile cable-net roofs of any stadium in the world.

With Lusail off the table, organisers were unable to agree an alternative venue in time, leaving the Finalissima unplayed as Argentina and Spain meet in a World Cup final instead.
