José Manuel Rodríguez Uribes

José Manuel Rodríguez Uribes is President of Spain's Higher Sports Council (CSD), the government body responsible for national sports policy, public funding of federations, anti-doping enforcement and oversight of major sporting events.

The CSD works alongside, but is institutionally distinct from, Spain's Sports Ministry, giving its president a regulatory rather than ministerial role in Spanish sport. Its REMIT sits above individual federations such as the RFEF, which run competitions and squads directly, while the CSD sets the policy and funding framework those federations operate within.

That structure gives the CSD presidency oversight weight across the whole of Spanish sport rather than football alone, spanning funding decisions, doping controls and safety standards at major events hosted in Spain.
