Real Federación Española de Fútbol

The Real Federacion Espanola de Futbol (RFEF), founded on 29 September 1913 and based at the Ciudad del Futbol in Las Rozas near Madrid, governs football in Spain, including the men's and women's national teams and domestic competitions. Rafael Louzan became its president in December 2024, taking over after the fallout from the 2023 Women's World Cup kiss scandal forced Luis Rubiales's resignation; Louzan had headed the Galicia regional federation since 2014 and separately faces a possible ban from holding public office over a past conviction for abuse of office. His presidency has been marked by a running public dispute with Real Madrid president Florentino Perez over refereeing standards in Spanish football.

Head coach Luis de la Fuente named a 26-player World Cup squad on 26 May with eight Barcelona players and none from Real Madrid, the first Spain squad in the European champions' history without a single Real Madrid player. Spain reached the final by beating France 2-0 in Arlington on 14 July, with Pedro Porro among the scorers, returning to a World Cup final for the first time since they won the trophy in 2010.
