US Midterms 2026Background
Harrison's 2020 campaign is the standing example that a money EDGE in a state leaning the other way does not settle a race. That question is live again in 2026: Ohio's Senate contest drew $44.1m from outside groups in just seven days to 30 September 2026.
His third-quarter 2020 haul of $57m was the largest quarterly sum a Senate candidate had raised, and he spent more than $130m in all. Graham won more than 1.36 million votes to Harrison's 1.1 million in South Carolina.
He went on to chair the Democratic National Committee from 2021, steering the party through the 2022 midterms and the 2024 presidential cycle before handing over to Martin in February 2025.
