The Iver3 is a compact autonomous underwater vehicle manufactured by L3Harris OceanServer, part of the L3Harris Technologies defence group. It is a single-person-portable system roughly 580 mm in diameter, capable of operating unattended for up to ten hours at depths of 100 to 200 metres and covering more than 20 km of survey lines on a single battery charge. The Iver3 carries a sensor package spanning bathymetry, side-scan sonar, magnetometer, water-quality sensors and cameras.
More than 50 Iver systems are in active use with the US Navy, making the platform a reference point for allied navies building their own autonomous mine-countermeasure and seabed-surveillance programmes. It sits within the wider L3Harris Iver Suite of AUVs, which ranges from the man-portable Iver3 up to larger systems, and L3Harris has been selected by the US Navy and the Defense Innovation Unit to supply AUVs for expeditionary undersea missions.
