Inside Unmanned Systems is a trade magazine on drones and autonomous systems, published in print and digital editions by Autonomous Media, LLC, which also publishes Inside GNSS. It writes for decision-makers in the drone industry, and Richard Fischer was its publisher in 2025. The title was a finalist in two categories of the 2025 Jesse H. Neal Awards for business journalism.
Its Gauntlet reporting reached a wider audience through DroneXL. The magazine found that only Neros, Ukrainian Defense Drones and Griffon Aerospace had completed their Gauntlet I orders by 25 August 2026. Its report, by Sebastien Roblin, blamed component shortages for the slow deliveries.
Those delivery figures framed the response to Pete Hegseth's planned Autonomous Warfare Command, announced on 30 September 2026: a new headquarters can direct money and requirements, but factories still set the pace at which drones reach units.
