Galicia is an autonomous community in north-western Spain, with its own regional government, language and trade union confederation, CIG, alongside the national confederations Comisiones Obreras and UGT that also organise there.
Its economy includes a significant business-process outsourcing sector, servicing contracts for multinational technology and telecoms companies from sites in cities such as A Coruña and Vigo.
