Common Questions
What is ARX Robotics and what does GEREON do?
ARX Robotics is a German UGV manufacturer. Its GEREON robot handles logistics, resupply, casualty evacuation and ISR on the battlefield. ARX won an order to expand the GEREON fleet for Ukraine fivefold, announced 6 May 2026.Source: ARX Robotics
How many ground robots does Ukraine want to buy in 2026?
Ukraine has stated a target of procuring 25,000 ground robots in the first half of 2026, a demand rate that is reshaping European UGV production capacity.Source: ARX Robotics
Why did ARX Robotics partner with Supacat in the UK?
ARX and Supacat signed a teaming agreement on 28 April 2026 to develop an optionally crewed Jackal patrol vehicle with UK-based manufacturing, responding to demand for sovereign ground autonomy and closer supply chains to conflict zones.Source: Army Technology
Is ARX Robotics expanding production to meet Ukraine demand?
Yes. ARX announced on 6 May 2026 that it had won an order to expand its GEREON UGV fleet for Ukraine to roughly five times its previous size, with a Supacat teaming adding UK manufacturing capacity.Source: ARX Robotics

Background

ARX Robotics is a German unmanned ground vehicle (UGV) manufacturer and the company behind the GEREON logistics robot now being scaled for Ukraine. On 6 May 2026 ARX announced it had won an order to expand its GEREON fleet for Ukraine to roughly five times its previous size, supplying robots for logistics, resupply, casualty evacuation (CASEVAC) and intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR). Ukraine has stated it wants to procure 25,000 ground robots in the first half of 2026, a consumption rate that sets the production tempo for the whole European UGV sector.

ARX extended its supply chain on 28 April 2026 by signing a teaming agreement with Britain's Supacat to develop an optionally crewed version of the Jackal patrol vehicle, placing UGV manufacturing on UK soil. The tie-up is a direct response to the demand signal from Ukraine: the buy signal is for cheap, repairable ground robots manufactured at scale in-country, not a handful of premium platforms.

Headquartered in Germany, ARX Robotics sits at the centre of a European UGV supply chain being reshaped by the Ukraine war. The company's ability to fulfil the fivefold expansion order will be a test of whether European manufacturers can respond to wartime production demands.
