Trieste, the Adriatic port that anchors the Trans Alpine Pipeline (TAL) into Central Europe, is one of the Mediterranean hubs now caught between a record-low Fujairah light distillate print and a doubling of Med Aframax freight in the week to 20 July.
As the TAL terminus, Trieste feeds crude Onward to refiners in Austria, Germany and Czechia, making it a pivot point for Central European supply as well as a Mediterranean product hub in its own right. Cross-Mediterranean Aframax freight, the tanker class that carries Suez-routed backfill cargoes to ports like Trieste, doubled to $151,308 a day over the same week.
The combined squeeze, a thinner Gulf buffer and a costlier Suez leg, lands the product-availability risk from the wider conflict on Mediterranean refiners at Trieste rather than on Gulf loading itself.
