Background
Live Quote Finder is a feature concept contributed by Trint to the SMART STORIES Story Object Model demonstration at mpts.london on 14 May 2026. Shown on Trint's "Breaking News — Croatia Interview" live-news UI mock, the feature proactively surfaces relevant soundbites from the live transcript by cross-referencing them against the organisation's current Skills context and the story's live state in the SOM. Unlike a passive search tool, Live Quote Finder pushes candidate clips to the journalist's attention as they are spoken, using the SOM's known story context (current death toll, compliance flags, premise) to filter for relevance .
The feature is a design concept, not a shipped Trint product. Its demonstration at mpts.london illustrates how SOM-aware newsroom tools would differ from today's AI transcription tools, which operate without shared story context. The "publishes back to the bus" behaviour shown alongside it implies Live Quote Finder also writes verified soundbites back to the SOM so that every downstream tool has the same set of contextualised clips.
