Background
Lisa (full name Lalisa Manobal, Born 1997 in Thailand) is a member of BLACKPINK, the South Korean girl group that became the most-streamed K-pop act globally. She is one of six performers confirmed by FIFA for the SoFi Stadium opening ceremony on 12 June 2026, the day the United States faces Paraguay in the World Cup opener, in a 13-minute show produced by Balich Wonder Studio.
Lisa debuted with BLACKPINK in 2016 and launched a parallel solo career with the 2023 single Lalisa (over 500 million YouTube views) and the 2024 album ROCKSTAR. She is Thai-Born but trained and debuted under South Korean label YG Entertainment, making her a cross-cultural figure with massive fanbases across East and Southeast Asia, and growing audiences in the United States and Europe.
Her inclusion in the World Cup ceremony reflects FIFA's strategy of deploying globally recognised entertainers who expand the tournament's reach into non-traditional football markets, particularly K-pop's enormous fanbase across Asia.
