Kongsberg Listen secured an autonomous underwater vehicle order from survey company DOF in mid-July 2026, delivering a HUGIN-class vehicle into commercial offshore survey work.
The DOF order landed in the same fortnight as Kongsberg Discovery's separate selection to design a US Navy extra-large uncrewed underwater vehicle, evidence that the same underlying autonomous-vehicle product line is winning both defence and commercial contracts at once, alongside Thales' rival consolidation of Exail.
