Drones: Industry & DefenceBackground
Insignito Solutions was founded by Israeli Air Force veterans and detects drones by their sound. Its DUMBO system uses microphone arrays and software to detect, classify and track drones, including small FPV craft and drones that emit little or no radio signal.
In October 2025 the company reported a contract for 180 DUMBO units to protect sensitive sites in Israel, its largest disclosed order.
Ondas, a US drone and counter-drone group, bought Insignito on 23 September 2026 together with Ottopia Technologies and CaribouLabs. Ondas put the combined price for the trio at US$56m in cash or shares, plus up to US$32m in earn-outs through 2028. Within the Ondas group, DUMBO supplies a passive sensor that listens for drones rather than emitting a signal of its own.
