Drones: Industry & DefenceBackground
CaribouLabs is an Israeli company that builds communications and geolocation equipment designed to work without GPS, for forces operating under jamming and electronic warfare. According to Ondas, forces already use CaribouLabs equipment in active conflict zones.
A drone or ground unit that loses GPS also loses its fix on position, and a jammed radio link cuts its control. CaribouLabs designs its equipment to survive both failures, so that units can keep navigating and talking where satellite signals are denied or spoofed.
Ondas bought CaribouLabs Ltd. alongside Insignito Solutions, which detects drones by sound, and Ottopia Technologies, which makes remote-control software. Together the three ADD navigation, detection and control layers around Ondas's existing drone and counter-drone products.
