Harraby South is a single-member ward of Cumberland Council in southern Carlisle. It covers Harraby and neighbouring residential areas and returns one councillor to the 46-member unitary authority.
The ward first elected a Cumberland councillor in May 2022, when voters chose the shadow authority that took power in April 2023. Labour's Linda Jones-Bulman won with 41% of the vote, ahead of the Conservatives on 35%. Reform UK did not contest that election. The winner's term was due to run until May 2027.
An August 2026 by-election changed the ward's representation. Reform UK won 560 votes, or 42.5%, against Labour's 469, or 35.6%, and the Conservatives' 236, or 17.9%, from 1,317 valid votes. The candidate figures are the council's; the sum and shares are ours. Reform therefore gained the seat from Labour and entered the next full-election cycle as the incumbent party.
