Gowan holds no stake in Moa Technology's round; its relationship with the Oxford Plant Sciences spinout is a research and distribution deal, one of four such agrochemical arrangements sitting alongside the round, which closed at £22.2 million on 23 July 2026. Gowan's part is to give any new herbicide chemistry Moa develops a route to market.
Gowan is a family-owned agricultural inputs business headquartered in Yuma, Arizona, with entities in eleven countries including the UK, France, Italy and Spain. It employs more than 950 people and sells crop protection products, seeds and fertilisers in more than 70 countries.
Moa's chemistry reaches a field through partners' sales ledgers rather than its own; Gowan's existing regulatory and distribution teams let a small spinout's laboratory discovery become a commercial product without Moa raising the capital to build that infrastructure itself.
