Background

Certis Belchim is one of four agrochemical incumbents holding a research and distribution partnership with Moa Technology, the Oxford Plant Sciences spinout that closed a £22.2 million Series C on 23 July 2026 . Certis Belchim is not an investor in the round; its role is distribution and regulatory support for Moa's herbicide chemistry.

Certis Belchim was formed in 2022 from the merger of Certis Europe and Belchim Crop Protection, both affiliates of Mitsui's AgriScience group, and operates from Utrecht in the Netherlands and Londerzeel in Belgium.

As with Nufarm and Gowan, Certis Belchim's stake in Moa is commercial partnership, not equity. That distinction matters because it means none of the four incumbents share in Moa's Series c valuation, only in whichever of Moa's discoveries they choose to carry to market.
