Geraldine Coggins stood for the Green Party in the 30 July 2026 Greater Manchester mayoral election, taking 64,968 first preferences (12.2%) and finishing third behind Labour's Bev Craig and Reform UK's Sian Astley.
The contest was run under the Supplementary Vote, restored for English mayors from 18 June 2026, and went to a second round after Craig fell short of an outright majority on first preferences. Turnout was 25.1%, the lowest the mayoralty has recorded.
Coggins's third place put the Green Party ahead of Restore Britain, the Conservatives, the Liberal Democrats and an independent candidate, but well short of Reform UK's Sian Astley in second.
