Emergence Capital Partners is a venture capital firm based at Pier 5 in San Francisco. It invests in enterprise software and, more recently, in companies applying artificial intelligence to work. It points to Salesforce in 2003 as its early bet on horizontal software as a service, and says it was the sole venture backer of Veeva's 2008 Series A.
On 22 September 2026 it led the $189m Series B raised by Verda, the Helsinki AI cloud company that traded until January 2026 as DataCrunch. The round took Verda past a $1bn valuation.
The firm publishes on American technology leadership, including a post of 16 September 2026 titled "Our Open-Weight Bet on American AI Leadership". Its role in Verda's round places an American investor at the head of a European sovereign-compute champion, which is the tension running through Europe's current compute debate.
