Civo announces first UK edge data centre at Navigate London
European Tech SovereigntyBackground
Civo is a UK cloud infrastructure provider selling managed Kubernetes, compute instances, Nvidia GPU instances, object storage, load balancers and managed databases from UK, Frankfurt and New York regions. On 22 September 2026 it announced the first of a planned 40 UK edge data centres, sited in Hertfordshire . Founder and chief executive Mark Boost controls between 50 and 75 per cent of its shares.
Civo's filed accounts for the year to 30 April 2025 report net liabilities of £11,202,588 and an average of 25 employees, up from 18 the year before. Filed under the small-company exemption, they carry no profit and loss account, so there is no turnover figure on the public record. No cumulative funding total is stated here: third-party trackers disagree by an order of magnitude and none matches a filing.
Companies House also records a group of related vehicles. Civo Limited incorporated six subsidiaries during 2026. A separate company, Ashbourne 1843 Ltd, which Mark Boost holds jointly with Anthony Sarno, controls Civo Data Centre (Welwyn) Ltd from outside Civo's own corporate group. The filed accounts record £4,846,334 owed to Viva Investment Group Ltd, described in the notes as a company under common control.
Civo bets on a 40-site edge network
Civo announced its first UK edge data centre on 22 September 2026, the opening day of its Navigate London conference. The Hertfordshire site will open at 8MW, with Civo saying five further sites totalling 150MW are already secured and a 1GW target set for the full rollout . Every capacity figure beyond the first site is Civo's own forward projection, not yet built out.
The announcement follows a May comparison table in which Civo priced rival sovereign clouds 10 to 30 per cent higher, though two of the four cited figures traced to US federal-cloud data rather than the European services being compared, and the table is no longer on Civo's live pricing page. Civo's accounts to 30 April 2025 record net liabilities of £11,202,588 and an average of 25 staff; filed under the small-company exemption, they carry no profit and loss account, so there is no turnover figure on the public record.
