Background
De Ketelaere was Belgium's outstanding performer in their 4-1 last-16 win over the United States, scoring twice and setting up a third goal as Belgium eliminated the last of the tournament's three co-hosts.
A product of the Club Brugge academy, he won three Belgian titles there before a difficult spell at AC Milan. He moved to Atalanta on loan in 2023, with the deal made permanent in June 2024, and won the UEFA Europa League with the club in 2023/24.
Now 25 and a first-choice attacking option under coach Rudi Garcia, De Ketelaere represents the generation succeeding Belgium's Hazard-De Bruyne golden era, playing alongside veterans such as Lukaku in the current squad.
