Background

Arquimea is a Madrid-based company working in space, Science, aeronautics and defence. Its defence line centres on the Q-Slam family of loitering munitions. The Q-Slam 40, first shown as the QLM-40 at FEINDEF 2021, is an electrically powered rotary-wing munition with a stated endurance of 25 minutes and a range of 25km. The fixed-wing Q-Slam 100 followed at FEINDEF 2025, with over 120 minutes of endurance and 60km of range. On 14 May 2025 Airbus Helicopters Spain and Arquimea agreed to integrate the Q-Slam 40 on the NH90 helicopter.

During REPMUS26, held on Portugal's Tróia Peninsula between 31 August and 25 September 2026, a Q-Slam 40 lifted off from a Spanish Navy robot boat at SEA, and its live video fed into the navy's command systems. Neither source dates the launch within the exercise.

Sources report a launch and a video feed, not a strike. The trial adds a naval launch platform to a munition already planned for helicopters, and puts Arquimea on the same small robot hulls that other programmes are arming with missiles.
