Background
Abolfazl Salehi Siavoshani is one of three defendants in the Ali Fahim case held in solitary confinement at Ghezel Hesar prison, facing imminent execution. Kurdish human rights organisation Hengaw reported on 24 April 2026 that Siavoshani, alongside Shahab Zahdi and Yaser Rajaeifar, was being held without family contact and without any stay of proceedings.
The Ali Fahim case is part of the post-2022 protest prosecution cycle that has continued to run through the Iran war. Hengaw has documented the pattern of defendants being moved to solitary confinement before execution, denied family visits, and scheduled without public announcement. As of 24 April 2026, the Iranian judiciary had executed 17 political prisoners since 28 February 2026, the start of the current conflict.
The three defendants' position at Ghezel Hesar follows the trajectory documented in the case of Amirali Mirjafari, who was executed at the same facility on 21 April 2026 under similar conditions: secret timing, no final family visit, protest-era arrest.
