UK Startups and Innovation: Bank proposes £100m aerospace debt fundBackground
Rolls-Royce co-designed the British Business Bank's proposed £100m debt fund for UK aerospace suppliers, announced at the Farnborough International Airshow on 20 July 2026 alongside Airbus, GKN Aerospace and trade body ADS.
Rolls-Royce is a British aero-engine and power-systems manufacturer based in Derby, supplying engines for civil and military aircraft as well as marine and nuclear power systems, and one of the UK's largest industrial employers.
Its involvement in shaping the proposed debt fund reflects concern within the sector over the financial resilience of its supplier base, given how dependent Rolls-Royce's own production is on smaller specialist suppliers.
