Leonor, Princess of Asturias, Born 31 October 2005, is the heir presumptive to the Spanish throne as the elder daughter of King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia. She became heir when her father acceded to the throne on 19 June 2014, on the abdication of her grandfather, Juan Carlos I.
Alongside the title Princess of Asturias, she holds the historical titles Princess of Girona, Princess of Viana, Duchess of Montblanc, Countess of Cervera and Lady of Balaguer, all traditionally carried by the heir to the Spanish crown.
Should she succeed as expected, she would become Spain's first queen regnant since Isabella II, who reigned from 1833 to 1868, making her succession one of the more significant constitutional moments the monarchy has in prospect.
