Ombudsman RI

Ombudsman Republik Indonesia (Ombudsman RI) is Indonesia's national ombudsman institution, with a Bali office that scrutinises provincial administration. It has formally flagged low compliance with Bali's PWA foreign-tourist levy as a governance problem .

Its criticism rests on contrasting two figures published by the same source: the Bali Provincial Tourism Office's headline arrival and revenue totals, and that same office's own historical payment-rate data, which imply a FAR larger shortfall than the totals alone suggest . The tourism office has not directly engaged the Ombudsman's compliance-rate criticism, continuing instead to publicise rising arrivals and receipts as evidence the levy is functioning.
