Who is Noteus in the Quantum Systems funding round?
Background
Noteus (Noteus Partners) is a Paris-based growth equity firm, founded in 2023, that co-led Quantum Systems' reported $1.2 billion Series D alongside Blackstone, Airbus and Advent. The round, signed 2 July 2026, reportedly valued the Munich drone maker at roughly $8 billion, more than double its prior mark; White & Case advised Noteus and fellow investor Balderton on the financing.
Noteus positions itself as an entrepreneurial growth investor backing category-defining European technology companies with proven, scalable business models, and its team has collectively invested more than EUR2.6 billion across 27 companies over more than a decade of European growth-equity investing, predating the firm's own 2023 founding.
Noteus's presence as a named co-lead, rather than a passive syndicate member, in one of European defence-tech's largest single financings signals that specialist growth investors are now competing for lead positions in European drone and autonomous-systems deals alongside global private equity (Advent, Blackstone) and strategic industrial capital (Airbus), a capital-formation pattern distinct from the pure-venture funding that characterised earlier European defence-tech rounds.
