Cambodia's National Institute of Public Health confirmed the country's latest H5N1 case, a nine-month-old girl in Phnom Penh, on 9 July, part of four new Cambodian cases recorded in ECDC's week 29 threats report. Cambodia accounted for more than half of the seven new global human H5N1 cases logged between 16 February and 17 July 2026.
NIPH is a semi-autonomous institution under Cambodia's Ministry of Health, recognised in 1997 as successor to the National Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology.
