Morgan Rogers was Born in Halesowen on 26 July 2002 and worked through the youth ranks at West Bromwich Albion before four years in Manchester City's academy, never quite forcing his way into City's first team. Loans at Lincoln City, Bournemouth and Blackpool preceded a £1.5m move to Middlesbrough in July 2023, where seven goals and nine assists in eighteen Championship games persuaded Aston Villa to sign him for an initial £8m the following February. He made his England debut against Greece in November 2024, scored his first international goal against Wales at Wembley a year later, was named the Premier League's PFA Young Player of the Year for 2024-25, then won the Europa League with Villa and was named its Player of the Season in 2025-26, before finishing third at the 2026 World Cup.
Rogers set up Anthony Gordon's opening goal with a cross in the 55th minute of England's World Cup semi-final against Argentina, a lead Argentina overturned to win 2-1 in stoppage time.
Transfermarkt added roughly EUR20m to Rogers's valuation in its post-tournament reassessment on 22 and 23 July, one of the England performers to rise alongside Argentina's Julian Alvarez and Portugal's Goncalo Ramos.
