Junya Ito

Junya Ito is a Japanese winger who scored Japan's fourth goal in their 4-0 defeat of Tunisia on 20 June 2026 in Monterrey, a match that was the 1,000th in World Cup history. His goal rounded off a dominant Japan performance that also saw Ayase Ueda score twice and Daichi Kamada ADD another.

Ito is a direct, quick winger who has spent much of his club career in Belgium and France. He became a regular starter for Japan under Hajime Moriyasu and is known for his pace down the right flank and his crossing ability. His club career has taken him through Gent and Reims, where he established himself as a productive attacking outlet at a high level of European football.
