Huntingdonshire District Council

Huntingdonshire District Council has administered district services in western Cambridgeshire since 1974. Its area includes Huntingdon, St Ives, Ramsey and St Neots. The district had about 180,800 residents at the 2021 census, and its 52 councillors represent 26 wards.

The May 2026 all-out election Left no party with the 27 seats required for a majority. Open Council Data records 20 Liberal Democrats, 15 Conservatives, nine Reform UK councillors, two Greens, one Labour councillor and four others, with one vacancy. A Liberal Democrat, independent and Green partnership runs the council.

In August 2026, the Liberal Democrats gained the vacant St Neots Eynesbury seat from Reform UK. The result strengthened the largest group but did not give it an outright majority.
