Hunan is an inland province in south-central China and a substantial user of agricultural spraying drones. Provincial figures published on 13 August 2026 put spraying coverage at 13.6 million mu, or roughly 9,000 square kilometres.
The province’s drone demand is led by farm services rather than aircraft manufacturing. Its reported spraying area FAR exceeded its water-inspection coverage, indicating that agricultural operations form the durable local use case for low-altitude services.
Hunan also links low-altitude development with BeiDou satellite navigation through projects backed by provincial special funds. That places the province within China’s wider effort to build domestic drone services and supporting infrastructure.
