Humanoid is a London-based robotics startup, founded around 2024, that builds wheeled Humanoid robots for logistics, manufacturing and retail environments. Its flagship platform, the HMND 01, runs on a proprietary control system called KinetIQ and uses wheels rather than legs, a design choice intended to clear European safety certification faster than a bipedal robot.
The company's investor base doubles as a customer base: German industrial groups Schaeffler and Bosch hold both equity stakes and commercial or manufacturing roles, a structure also used by German rival Neura Robotics. That overlap of financier, buyer and builder is unusual outside the robotics sector and ties Humanoid's commercial prospects directly to its backers' own factory floors rather than to open-market sales.
Humanoid competes in a crowded field of Humanoid-robot developers racing towards commercial deployment, where credibility increasingly rests on disclosed unit orders rather than valuation alone.
Humanoid's valuation outruns its unit count
Humanoid raised $152m in a Series A on 21 July 2026, valuing the two-year-old London robotics startup at $1.35bn, with lead investor Prime Movers Lab joined by Schaeffler, Bosch, Fubon Financial and Aglae Ventures. Schaeffler signed what Humanoid calls the industry's largest publicly announced commercial robot agreement, covering deployment of its wheeled HMND 01 platform across Schaeffler's manufacturing sites, while Bosch took on contract manufacturing.
Neither partner has disclosed a unit count behind that headline claim; a widely cited figure of 100,000 units over five years is Bosch's potential production capacity, not a signed order. Humanoid's beta units are due to reach customers from the fourth quarter of 2026, when the gap between valuation and confirmed volume starts to close.
