The Grand Stade Hassan II is a stadium proposed for Casablanca, Morocco, planned with a capacity of around 115,000 seats.
Its significance rests entirely on the unresolved 2030 hosting question: the venue does not yet exist as a completed stadium, and its candidacy depends on both the joint Spain-Portugal-Morocco bid being confirmed and the 64-team, 128-match format itself being ratified by FIFA, neither of which has happened.
Until FIFA sets a Council date to decide the format and, separately, the choice of final venue, the stadium's status remains a proposal rather than a confirmed fixture on the football calendar.
Casablanca is bidding to host the final
The Grand Stade Hassan II has emerged as Morocco's candidate venue to host the 2030 World Cup final, under a proposed 64-team, 128-match format that would see Spain, Portugal and Morocco jointly stage the tournament's later stages. CONMEBOL had already renewed its own push for that expanded format days earlier.
The proposal is not yet a ratified FIFA decision, and no FIFA Council date has been set to vote on it. A rival petition, launched by Miguel Tomas, has proposed the final be played instead at Madrid's Santiago Bernabeu.
