Background
Ettrick, Roxburgh and Berwickshire is a Scottish Borders constituency currently held by the Scottish Conservatives and projected by Electoral Calculus to fall to the SNP at the 7 May 2026 Holyrood election. It is one of five Conservative-held constituencies expected to be lost, potentially leaving the party without a single constituency MSP for the first time since devolution.
The seat covers a wide rural area in the Scottish Borders, including the towns of Hawick, Kelso, and Selkirk. It has returned a Conservative MSP since the party first won it in 2011. The Borders region has historically been Conservative-leaning within the Scottish context, making its projected loss a measure of how FAR the party's support has collapsed.
