The Australian Securities Exchange, run by ASX Limited from Sydney, is Australia's main market for shares and derivatives. It was formed in 1987 from six state exchanges and merged with the Sydney Futures Exchange in 2006. The Australian Securities and Investments Commission supervises trading and listed companies' compliance with the exchange's rules.
Several defence firms in the drone sector list on ASX. DroneShield, quoted under the ticker DRO, chose Hamish McLennan as chairman at its 29 May 2026 shareholder meeting in Sydney. Electro Optic Systems, an Australian maker of lasers and remote weapon stations, agreed with the Dutch defence ministry in September 2026 to study building its Apollo laser in the Netherlands.
Those listings make ASX the public market through which investors hold Australia's counter-drone makers as their European orders grow.
