CENTCOM (United States Central Command) announced Task Force Falcon Strike on Thursday 13 August, then declined to say whether any country had joined it, DefenseScoop reported 1. Asked which nations it expects to take part, CENTCOM said, as reported by DefenseScoop, that it is consulting with and inviting regional partners. It named none of them, and gave no stand-up date.
That leaves the announcement one step short of what its billing implies. DefenseScoop describes the unit as a multinational one-way attack-drone command modelled on Task Force Scorpion Strike, the US-only formation CENTCOM stood up in December 2025. No source has yet placed a second flag inside the new task force, and CENTCOM has not classified its mission in either direction. Its confirmed activity in the theatre remains its own: a port blockade that had redirected 49 vessels by 6 August . Until a government is named and dated, the item on the record is an invitation.
