Wilson Isidor scored Haiti's second historic goal of the 24 June 2026 match against Morocco, finishing in the 43rd minute to restore their lead and make it 2-1 at half-time. The goal capped a remarkable individual journey: Born in France, he had only committed to representing Haiti internationally in March 2026 after a fan campaign pressured him to declare, and the Morocco match was his first start for the national side.

Born on 27 August 2000 in France, Isidor began his professional career at AS Monaco, making his Ligue 1 debut in November 2018. Loan spells at Laval and Bastia-Borgo followed, the latter earning him the Championnat National revelation of the season award in 2020-21. In August 2024 he joined Sunderland on loan as they returned to the Premier League, converting the deal to a permanent four-year contract in February 2025. He scored six Premier League goals in the 2025-26 season, including a memorable strike in a 3-0 win over West Ham on Sunderland's top-flight return.

Isidor's dual eligibility and high-profile Premier League career made him Haiti's most hotly pursued uncapped player ahead of the 2026 tournament.
