The Royal Jordanian Air Force jointly operates Muwaffaq Salti (Azraq) Air Base with the US Air Force, the installation Iran struck for a third time on 17 July, killing two American service members in the war's first US combat deaths. Jordan says its air defences intercepted eight of the ten missiles fired at the base that day.

Amman's official account reports no Jordanian casualties or damage from the attack, a line that has not been amended since CENTCOM confirmed the American deaths on the same Runway. The base has drawn Iranian strikes twice before, on 10 June and 9 July, both largely or fully intercepted, making the shared Jordanian-American installation the most repeatedly targeted Jordanian site of the war.
